Our story started in 1995
Happy Years of CoachingWelcome to SailCoach, the world’s first and leading coaching and support organisation for sailors of all backgrounds. Since 1995, we’ve been working with sailors from across the globe, from places like the Seychelles to Uruguay, and from Iceland to the Cook Islands. Our mission is to provide a comprehensive solution for sailors, offering coaching, charter boats, accommodation, campaign support, and mentoring from our two SailBase’s in Malta and Valencia, Spain.
Our sailors participate with our support in various regattas, with a special focus on the ILCA and Optimist classes. We take pride in our track record of helping newcomers in sailing progress to regional and national competitions. We have had the privilege of nurturing talented athletes who have gone on to win medals at four Olympic Games.
At SailCoach, we recognise that our sailors are more than just athletes, they are individuals with unique goals and aspirations. That’s why we offer personalised coaching and support that goes beyond the technical aspects. For over 30 years, giving back to the sport we love has been at the heart of SailCoach’s mission. We are passionate about empowering athletes from around the world, regardless of their background or financial situation, to achieve their goals in a way that’s tailored to them.
Our wide range of services includes the SailCoach Academy (a dedicated international boarding school for sailing athletes) along with top-quality coaching, charter boats, and SailCoach Lite. With SailBases in Malta and Valencia, two of Europe’s great sailing venues, our programs aim to support athletes and sailing federations in achieving their goals.
Our coaches are carefully chosen for their athlete centred approach and world-class expertise, with proven success at all levels of competition. What truly sets SailCoach apart is our belief that success in sailing is about more than just winning races. It’s about developing life skills such as resilience, independence, and decision-making. SailCoach has expanded to a new base in Valencia, Spain, where sailors can enjoy fantastic sailing conditions and warm weather throughout the year. Valencia has become a popular training spot for sailors of various levels, including Optimists, Finns Masters, ILCA Dinghies, ILCA Masters, and even Olympic sailors.
Our Valencia SailBase is situated at the renowned Real Club Náutico de Valencia, offering a “home away from home” for teams in search of top-notch training facilities in Europe. Additionally, we provide secure long-term container storage at competitive rates, making it convenient for teams to keep their equipment just a day’s drive from mainland Europe.
But our Valencia SailBase is more than just a storage place. Our experienced coaches are here to offer personalised training and support to athletes of all levels, helping them build the skills and confidence needed for success on the water.
Moreover, with daily ferry services to Palma Majorca nearby, SailCoach’s Valencia SailBase serves as an excellent starting point for teams planning to compete in European regattas.
