High-performance Coach - Olympic Sailor

Tomek Vaccaro is a talented ILCA 7 sailor with Olympic ambitions, currently campaigning towards the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. Tomek trains regularly with SailCoach and continues to develop his international racing experience. His results include strong performances on the ILCA Europa Cup circuit, demonstrating his potential as he progresses towards senior international competition. Alongside his sailing career, Tomek is currently in his second year of a B.Sc. (Hons) in Sport and Physical Activity at the University of Malta, giving him a strong academic understanding of athletic performance, training and physical development. When his own racing schedule allows, Tomek also works with SailCoach as a coach. Despite being relatively new to coaching, he has quickly built a strong reputation with young sailors for his enthusiasm, technical knowledge and ability to relate to athletes. His combination of current high-level racing, academic studies and developing coaching experience makes him an exciting part of the next generation of SailCoach coaches. Away from sailing and university, Tomek is a well rounded member of the SailCoach family. A fluent Italian speaker, he has a love of good Italian food, strong coffee and some very definite opinions on how pasta should be cooked. While he takes his racing and Olympic ambitions very seriously, he brings plenty of warmth and character to the team and is always ready to get stuck in with the day to day jobs that are part of team life.

SailCoach was the brainwave of Trevor Millar in 1995. In discussing the idea with his former athlete James O'Callaghan the idea was further developed through the Trinity Business School, Dublin. The company was incorporated in 1996 with the aim of creating a coaching organisation that would help sailors from all parts of the globe to pursue their sailing goals and dreams and predominantly now our sailors are from the emerging sailing nations. However, our mission is about more than just silverware.
